Amber S. Merkens

Amber S. Merkens is a clinically trained herbalist with a passion for the healing potential that exists where science and tradition meet. Amber’s personal relationship with the natural world, European, Chinese, and Ayurvedic systems of herbal medicine, folk herbalism, and holistic nutrition, all inform her work and enable her to skillfully match people with the plants and foods that will best support their whole health picture – in body, mind, and spirit.

Amber partners with her clients as collaborator and guide, to uncover root causes of imbalance, understand connections between symptoms, and activate the body’s innate healing capacity. She offers customized formulas because, when artfully designed for a specific individual’s body, formulas often work faster than a single herb and have deeper, broader, longer lasting effects.

Amber’s roots as a dancer, doula, lactation counselor, and family advocate give her a unique understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the specific health challenges which arise around fertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, birth, and postpartum. While she specializes in helping people balance their hormones, optimize their children’s health, and manage their musculoskeletal pain through the support of herbal medicine, she is able to help anyone seeking herbal guidance.
