Embodying The Witch: A Workshop For Transformation
October 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT
The witch has been misunderstood, vilified, objectified, misrepresented and feared throughout history. Possibly – just possibly the witch is finally having a return where in some parts of the world it is now safe again to be a witch. How do we define the witch? What is the origin story of witches? There are so many different kinds of witches, so much history and different lineages to recognize and honor. Both “Witch” by Lisa Lister and “Waking the Witch” by Pamela Grossman are recent publications that teach us much.
My working and shapeshifting definition of a witch is: a person connected to their innate healing abilities (using these capabilities on themselves and if they choose on the behalf of others), believes in and uses magic and alchemy through intention, presence and reverence, respects and learns from animals, nature and Mother Earth and other wise beings while also communing with the sun, moon, stars, planets and unseen entities and acknowledges the sacredness in life, death and rebirth.
Your definition might be different. The witch meets us where we are. What’s important to know is that when we call in this energy of the witch and take on her/his/their mantle in our physical world, we change, transform, even transmute. Because the witch, if nothing else, is powerful and unapologetic. The witch is connected to the physical, emotional, energetic, mental and spiritual. This full-dimensional connection to all parts of ourselves releases conditioning that may keep us small and obedient, creates revolutions, uprisings and healings!
In this workshop, we will connect with the vitality, empowerment, confidence and insights of the witch. The new moon occurs the day before in Libra. On Saturday for our workshop, the moon will have moved into Scorpio. As the moon is growing, this is the perfect Zodiac guide to help us connect with what’s under the surface of ourselves and give ourselves permission to honor our own intensity and intuition. Love and light are great. Yet they’re only one side of the scale. What wonderful creatures grow in the dark? Just about everything if you think about it. Let’s discover what hidden (or maybe you already connect with them) powers you have within through guided meditation, spell casting, prayer, archetypal guidance and shaking out our bodies. We will call in, connect with and celebrate THE WITCH. Bring all the parts of yourself, pen, paper and any helpers that assist you in holding space and tuning in.
