The first of two Aquarius Full Moon arrives on Friday, at 7:36pm Pacific Time, pushing us to release the past so we can establish a more creative, inspired, and liberated future. Falling at 1º Aquarius, this Full Moon forms a dissociative conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn, plunging us into our shadows and depths for the sake of transformation.
We may feel frustration rising—stuck feelings surfacing as we yearn to be free. But this isn’t the time to indulge depression, despair, or cyclical thinking. We can shift those internal patterns, calling on our ingenuity and courage to forge new pathways.
The beauty of this lunation is that there’s no escaping the truth. We’ve had ample opportunity over the past year and a half to reflect on our internal demons as well as the problems of the world around us. We’re diving back in now, leaving behind a brief Summer of Love to return to our journeys of liberation and reinvention—both personally and collectively.
Now, we might ask — What are our visions for the future? How can we break free of destructive, self-sabotaging patterns so we can discover more freshness, unity, and love?
We can place our hands on our hearts and feel the cool shock of honesty as we observe ourselves and the world. We’re ready for reinvention and to work together in harmony to conceive new approaches to living and being.
With the Sun in Leo opposite the Moon in Aquarius, another tension is brewing—between our selfish desires and what’s good for the collective. Parts of us want to play, enjoy the world, and create, while other parts remind us that there’s serious work to do liberate ourselves from past perils and karma. With oppositional tension, the trick is to find a balance between these two energies.
How can we reinvent the world while also enjoying our lives? How can we laugh and celebrate while also employing patience and perseverance?
Aquarius is enlightened society, the pinnacle of human potential. We’re standing at the threshold of the Aquarian Age, ready to experience two Aquarius Full Moons, and anything is possible. As Bucky Fuller says, we’re either heading toward utopia or oblivion. Whichever it is is up to us.
What future are we ready to invent?
On this Aquarius Full Moon, may we feel confident in who we are, joyfully transmuting past mistakes into future wisdom. May we appreciate our uniqueness, caring for others while remaining true to ourselves and our highest visions of what could be.
