The New Year is upon us, and with it comes the usual ritual of dispelling the old and welcoming in the new. For many of us practitioners, this is a powerful time to renew old spells and develop meditations or manifestations we may wish to focus our energy on. Here are three spells for the New Year that will be perfect for you to add to your repertoire!

Meager Set Up, Major Manifestation

Not all manifestations require rhyming phrases and specific moon cycles. This New Year manifestation ritual is meager, but that doesn’t mean it’s not powerful! Use this manifestation technique to inspire some major change for your New Year and beyond!

You will need:

Sounds like your usual setup, right? There is power in fire and language, though, so we will utilize both for this New Year’s manifestation. Before New Year’s Eve, take your pen and write out all that you wish to have in the new year as if you already possess all of it. My fellow writers may feel inclined to write it as a short story, while others may list all their wants and needs; regardless, be sure it is written as if you are happy and content and have everything you desire.

With the piece of paper filled with your wants, carry it with you throughout the rest of the day. After the ball drops and the time turns over, tuck the note under your pillow and sleep dreaming of the life you wish for 2022. When you wake up light your silver or gold candle and burn the piece of paper to ashes. Let the candle burn down all the way and visualize the smoke release your intentions to the universe. Keep an eye on your future now as your manifestations begin to arrive, piece by piece.

A sign to use these three new year spells!

Classic Money Jar

This spell jar is well-known for its potency and continual use! Any spells or spell jars that focus on abundance and prosperity are amazing for the New Year. Invite financial luck into your life with this simple and powerful Money Jar spell!

You will need:

  • Any jar
  • Money– this can be a handful of coins or bills; anything you have on hand will work
  • Bay leaf (for manifestation)
  • Cinnamon sticks (for prosperity)
  • Coffee (for a speedy arrival)

Cleanse your jar however you wish– I like to use palo santo or incense, as smoke cleansing works best for me, but bells for sound cleansing or water cleansing can be used as well! Take your bay leaf and draw a sigil for prosperity or abundance (example below). Stick the bay leaf at the bottom of the jar.

Place the money you have procured into the jar one at a time, with each one imagining your wealth growing and growing exponentially. Once the bay leaf is covered by the money, add your cinnamon sticks (I usually add two to three, but I have a large jar so just add as many as you wish that can fit comfortably) and sprinkle your coffee over everything in the jar.

Now leave this jar somewhere you will always see it. Sometimes I add more coins or dollars so this jar can double as a change holder! Regardless, once set up, watch money flow into your life. Be sure to swap out the cinnamon sticks every six months or so to refresh the jar!

Fehu rune– a symbol for Prosperity.

New Year Candle Magic

Candle magic is a basic form that even beginners can pick up. For that reason, I am including a candle spell that anyone can do and is perfect for those spending New Year’s Eve alone! Use this Candle Magic Spell to have a smooth transition into the new year and allow life to treat you gently.

You will need:

  • A candle you can carve (one that is your favorite color is ideal!)
  • Something to carve the candle with, this can be a toothpick, wooden dowel, or a knife if you trust your hands

Take the unlit candle and carve your intentions for the New Year into it. Let your mind fall free and allow your hands to simply work on instinct. You can draw runes, sigils, or just your desires across the surface of the candle. Nonetheless, make sure your intentions revolve around serenity, peace, and good energy. Once you are content with your candle, light it an hour before the year ticks over and spend the rest of your night beside it. Let it burn down before you go to sleep and find that the New Year will be kinder to you when morning comes.

A notepad to try and refine your new year's resolution!
