We virtually chatted with Stephanie Flor, founder of Around the World Beauty and a NYC based celebrity makeup artist who works regularly with industry leaders! Her clients include Mariah Carey, Eve, Sting, Kathy Griffin, and politicians Mexican President Felipe Calderon, and the Israeli president Shimon Peres, among many others. This Sunday, May 3rd, Stephanie will be teaching a workshop called Herbal Bathing. She’ll share how to make a herbal bath that helps relax tense muscles, opens pores, encourages digestion, softens the skin, and assists in detoxification. You can sign up here!

Tell us a little bit about your background?

I’m Stephanie Flor founder of Around The World Beauty.  My beauty adventures around the world have taken me to learn about Ayurveda in India to sacred bathing in the mountains of Peru. My work is dedicated to the women who love to explore the world, and learn about various cultures and their people. At Around The World Beauty, it is our mission to uncover the world’s best-kept beauty secrets one destination at a time. When I’m not running a tour, you can find me learning about the ethos, aliens, and all things consciousness. I’m inspired by the spirituality of the universe, and magic of life. I’m what you consider a “self-help junkie,” and nature lover. There’s nothing I appreciate more than a big breath in the middle of an open field.

Our goal is to provide awareness, wanderlust, and a sense of adventure through authentic beauty adventures inspired by the women from around the world. We revolve around conversations, activities, and a pulse of daily experiences that is intended to activate one’s awareness of traditions, and forge cross-cultural understanding through the lens of beauty!

How did you come to your work?

I’ve been obsessed with the art of transformation. The magic of pigments, and the beauty of culture.

A beauty professional for over 12 years and traveling to 40+ countries, I’ve explored the concept of global beauty, and how we define beauty. I’ve been featured as a “Young & Inspiring: Ones to Watch” list, and called a “Beauty Vanguard”, making her mark in publications like Glamour and Latina Magazine. At the peak of my career, I shifted to go on a wild adventure around the world, and I fell in love with finding beauty in the most unexpected places. I met individuals who would forever detour my journey, who showed me that life would never be about the surface level of what you could see with the eye, but the deeper connection to self and what is felt through the heart.

In NYC I run a Beauty Walking Tour, which is like having your savvy New York bestie show you their favorite local spots, with tons of perks and surprises along the way. The Alchemist’s Kitchen is one of my beauty stops. I bring locals and also out of town guests to learn about clean beauty. We also host them in Marrakesh, Morocco with our local beauty guides.

What do you hope clients receive from working together and with you?

I hope clients find inner beauty, build a confidence that radiates from inside -out, and deepens who they are based on relationships, experiences, and magical moments of awareness to re-discover the beauty of life itself.

What is one of your most favorite pieces of advice?

In order to find beauty, you must carry it with you or you find it not. Beauty is more than skin deep. Beauty is felt.

Do you have any favorite herbal allies?

I would say flowers. I’m obsessed with color, and will always have roses in my home. I believe that plants bring life into spaces, and brighten to change your mood. It’s interesting because my last name is flor, translated into flower in English. I feel alive when flowers are near me, and I think it has to go back into my lineage.

Bonus Q: Sun/Moon/Rising Signs?

Taurus /Capricorn
